Burdwan University has started B.Ed course by means of distance education from the coming academic session. Vice-Chancellor Dr Smirti Kumar Sarkar said that students having 50 percent marks from any of the recognised universities are eligible to pursue the course. “The course will start from July and this is the first time in West Bengal such a course is being launched,” he said. The university has got the permission from National Council of Education and admission process will begin from next month. Students will be able to pursue courses in Science, Arts and Commerce stream by paying a course fee of Rs 25,000, officials said.
