Rowan College at Burlington County is offering a scholarship to its award-winning distance education program in honor of National Distance Learning Week, which is Nov. 7-11.
New or current students can use the scholarship to take a free online course during the spring 2017 semester. The scholarship is provided by the Rowan College at Burlington County Foundation.
Rowan College at Burlington County’s distance education department is one of the largest among all colleges in New Jersey and currently offers 12 associate degrees and six certificates fully-online.
The college’s online programs ranked top 20 in the nation for offering high quality and value without high cost and won Best of Biz from South Jersey Biz two years in a row.
“Rowan College at Burlington County offers more than 90 different courses online, providing quality, flexibility and convenience to students,” College President Paul Drayton said. “Onlinecolleges.com recently ranked our program ahead of every four-year college in the entire state. We encourage students to apply for this scholarship to experience the RCBC difference first-hand.”
To apply for the scholarship, students must prepare an original essay (600 to 1000 words) that addresses the following topics:
- How will receiving this free class enable me to pursue my interests to start or further my education in working towards my education goals or career?
- What are some tips that can be used to become a successful student?
“This scholarship offers students an opportunity to achieve their education no matter where they are located or what time constraints they may be facing,” Rowan College at Burlington County Foundation Executive Director Anika Ragins-Riley said. “The RCBC Foundation is excited to help students take advantage of our nationally-recognized online programs.”
The scholarship contest will run from Monday, Nov. 7 to Friday, Nov. 18 and is open to anyone interested in completing an online course at RCBC.
Original essays should be submitted as a pdf file to [email protected] by Nov. 18.
Submissions will be judged by a panel consisting of an RCBC distance education staff member, a foundation staff member, and representatives from the academic divisions. Winners will be announced in early December through the RCBC website and social media.
