New Delhi: Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday met students from various colleges and sought their suggestions on drafting its policy for study loans.
Facilitating bank loans for students was one of the key poll promises of the Aam Aadmi Party.
“The government stands with those who want to pursue higher studies,” said Sisodia, who is also Delhi’s Education Minister.
“The government is committed to giving the right of education to every student,” he added.
The draft of the scheme talks about giving a bank loan of up to Rs 100,000 to students after Class 12. Several students suggested that the scheme should be transparent and that there should be no hidden costs.
